W. G. Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio manufactured several different machines - Buckeye, New Buckeye and this one- the Wilson.  Manufactured approx late 1860s to early 1870s.  This was one of many 'Paw Foot' machines made by different companies at that time with many having Ketchem's patent info stamped on them.

This machine reminds me of a combination of New England Style  combined with Folsom with similar gold scrolling, a very similar spool holder/tension assembly and knarly paw feet. The undersides are similar.
The flowers and gold scrolling on this machine are lovely and in much better condition than my Folsom.
You have a beautiful sewing machine.

Thank you! You are correct on the similarities between the two.  The smooth pillar on the Wilson is a distinguishing difference between them.  You don't reckon there was some copyright infringements going on?

Think so.  Even the curved presser foot is similar.

Thank you very much!  We've enjoyed being caretakers for them but never had a platform to 'display' them until I stumbled on to VSS.

Nice!  I see a couple of differences.  Location of the thread holder and the ribbed vs smooth pillar.  There may be more.
