Inside a small wood compartment inside the bentwood top of an 1886 Singer New Family 12, Hand Crank, is this sewing machine attachment.

What do you think it is?

Is it part of another machine, rather than a Singer 12?

Thank you for the great information about the early Tuck Marker.  It is so cool.  I'm going to clean and oil it.  Can't wait to try it out!  Fun. Fun.  [wave]
