I think this is some sort of darning foot. It has no markings on it. Someone gave it to me from their pile of unknown stuff. It's perfect for my high shank Kenmore 117.740 to do FMQ. It has a spring mechanism. I'll post lots of pics. Hopefully someone here has one to sell me. Or maybe you can help me ID this foot. Thanks!!

Yes, Miriam noticed an odd little notch that made her wonder if this was some special type of darning foot. Not that the notch matters to my FMQ but I'd tried a more traditional type of hopping foot before I got this one and it didn't work well for me. So I'd really like to have a spare of this exact foot since it does what I need. 2a.jpg

This is generally the cheapest darning foot made. I have a few of them but mine are all low shank. They usually come with generic snap on feet sets and I've seen them come with accessory sets with lower end machines. I've never seen a high shank one, in fact I just looked on Ebay and Amazon and only found them for low shank and in the generic sets.

I'd like one for my Emdeko which is also a high shank. I don't think I've seen a high shank foot shaped like that.

So get a high-to-low shank adapter. Easy-peasy.

Yes, that's a good idea Zorba. But if anyone here has this foot in high shank that they would like to sell, I'd be very interested.

But does it work with a hopping foot?

Hi Sheila. Thanks for your suggestion. I did a google image search for couching feet and didn't find one that looks like mine. However it did cause me to decide to revisit the plastic FMQ foot I own. I'm going to try it again and if necessary modify it as Leah Day suggests. It disturbs me that I cannot find a replacement for my current one if it should break
