Does this look familiar to anyone?  I got it with some cams and feet for 306.  Any help please.  This may not belong to a sewing machine of course, as many odd things finish up in sewing machine boxes and drawers20190315_193326.jpg  20190315_193337.jpg

It is a "raising plate" probably Singer number 161894. https://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/simanco/161894/ I'm not sure which of the 300-400-series machines other than 348k. Looks like https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/throat-raising-plate-singer-161894892.aspx lists the machines that it will fit.

Thank you Janey.  It was in a box with 306 cams and feet so it is possible it was used on the 306 then.  I searched and searched but  I couldn't  find  a number on it.  Well now, with big thanks to you, I know it is a sewing machine piece and not an 'odd' piece put in box with cams.

Not likely that they used it on the 306 as the throat plate is different and the raising plate would not work. I found it listed for the 348k and 338. According to the second link it will also work with Singer models 1280N, 353, 354, 7184, 9602, 9605, 9610, 9614.

Thanks Janey.  I read  '300 and 400 series machines'  on singersewinginfo.co.uk and presumed this numbering included the 306.  I shouldn't presume[smile]

I've owned 2 Singers that used this part, one was a Fashion Mate but I can't remember what the other one was.  Both of the machines had top loading bobbins and used class 66 bobbins.  Instead of the feed dogs dropping this thing raises the plate above the feed dogs.
