Things are starting to come together here at my new house in Antioch California. I think that 3+ weeks is enough time to easily let me get what I need done done, but a short enough time to make me get off my butt and do it!

Thinking February 15th.

Thoughts?

What Lori said.  Would love to see the new digs, and the collection.

With that ceiling height, you're clearly going to have to install a mezzanine level, because you're already out of room for more treadles.  Just sayin'.

I love the way you decorate, I hadn't thought of dedicated rooms now I may have to do some moving around.

The Wheeler & Wilson semi-industrial is a Model #10

The room is coming together.  I picked up a pair of wingback chairs for $60.  The upholstery will need to go at some point, but for now at least there is some sitting

Won't be able to come to your Feb. get together, but sure wish I could be there "live."  Your photos are wonderful, and that room looks scrumptious!  Neat chairs!

here is the "official post"

The Victorian Sweatshop Collection is having an open house on Saturday February 15th.

My collection ranges from 1857 through 1901 and includes Domestic and Industrial machines.

I will be opening the house at 10am and the event will end when it ends.

I have a nice big kitchen with lots of counter space for Pot Luck if folks would like to bring stuff.

I have been sorting through my collection and I will also be using this event to kick off a great purge. I will be parting with a number of duplicate/extra/too-new Heads, Complete machines, and Treadles. Some from the 1800's some from the 1900's. Some will be free to good home, some for sale at "get this out of here" prices.

(FYI - NO, I will not provide an inventory of what is available in advance)

If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area and are interested in attending, please PM me for address and contact info.

Almost ready!  Just a few more machines to coax into operation before Saturday.

I count 23 treadles in that room.

Are treadle races a thing?  ;-)

That is correct.

My friend Cathy came over yesterday to give me a hand.  Lot's of oiling.

I am sorting through my "non-display" stuff and I have a bunch that will be on my "these must go" table.
Cathy was kind enough to take a "Red-Eye" off my hands with a plain Jane parts machine to go with it!  Progress!

I am hoping to get the irons, decks, and heads sorted into complete machines during the evenings this week.
If I am successful, there will be a complete New Home, a "fiddle based" Domestic, a W&W #8, and at least one Singer treadle to be re-homed Saturday.
A Cinderella head, a White Queen head, and an Early W&W #8 parts head (mostly stripped) as well.

The Bel-Air Bantam that was put together by donations from Members (mostly on QB) for my student that was deploying to Afghanistan will also be available.  It is set up with a motor and a handcrank and it spent his whole deployment being used by his unit to make repairs and by the local villagers for as well.  The Military would not allow him to leave it with them and he is not the sentimental type, so he asked me to re-home it.

Wow! The new house looks amazing with your collection beautifully displayed!  I bet you are loving the new home with all the space to spread out!  I am tempted to try and make it, but hubby's schedule is still up in the air.  I bet it will be a great day and lots of fun for everyone who is able to attend.

Looks to be fairly sparsely attended, but hey short notice and new place, what's to expect...

I have 4 people confirmed so far.
