This was the newest model (early 1870's).  And that's about the extent of what I've been able to find.

The lever on the base operates the reverse stitch mechanism.  Any other info I've found can be attributed to David Best on the earlier model: http://www.sewmuse.co.uk/Heron%20Gresham%20&%20Craven.htm . Fiddlebase website: https://www.fiddlebase.com/british-machines/gresham-craven/ and Neddlebar.org: http://needlebar.org/nbwiki/index.php?title=Gresham_%26_Craven#Gresham_.26_Craven_Company

Other than some light dusting this machine is as we received it March 2003.  I'm looking forward to detailing this one.
