Hello all,
For some reason I find myself surrounded by vintage singers here, and thought that as long as I have some electric, and some treadle, I might as well get a couple hand crank singers!  Looking for 15, 128, 99 era cranks.  My question is, how do I tell a repro from a vintage singer, and what should I expect to pay?
Thanks,
Jim

I generally see "claimed to be original" handcranks listed for $70-$100. Repros from $18-$25.

The decals on the repros are Chinese lettering. Are you hoping to match the decals to your vsm decals?

There is a great guy here in WI, Dwaine Kronshak, who imports vsms and hcs from England. I bought an original HC from him for $50, and he does ship. If you do a search here, Mrs. D has shared his contact info a couple of times.

Farmer John has pulled apart a repro and retooled it to be smooth. Says it's time consing, though.
