Hello group,

Just bought a 72w12 hem stitcher.  Somewhere on some forum I saw someone who bought one but cannot find it.  There are a few videos on youtube and some neat blogs as well as a web site hemstitcher.com  What I've learned is the different models have different piercers.  My manual is on the hemstitcher.com and same 1/16" spacing as the much more common 72w19.  There are clones of the 72w19 even in China.  The 72w19 is supposed to be very similar but the presser foot is supposed to lift allowing turns better.  Most seem to be using one of these on a treadle.  Does anyone have experience here with the 72w class?  How about a good source for piercers, especially the one for the 72w12.  It looks like a very cool machine to get on line.  It will be nice to get feedback from anyone using them.

Best regards,
Mike

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the reply.  I'd seen her post for a link on the manual and thought she may be an owner/user for one.  Maybe she can provide some good insight and help.  It will be several months getting it here but I want to plan for potential uses.  I've read the hem stitches coming off the 72w and 119w class machines are very nice and can be differentiated from the single needle hemstitches using a special winged needle.  However, I have to wonder if the specialty patterns combined with the wing needle might have a very special place combined with the dedicated industrials.

Best regards,
Mike

I do have the 72w12,   but my manual is later and for the w19 (should be posted on this site)   I have not used mine so can't help much in how to use it.

I managed to get some extra piercers for it - but now wonder if they will fit.   I'm pretty sure they were sold as fitting the 72w-12.    I've never checked to be sure,  just put them away with  my other extra stuff for the machine.   I do hope to use it some day - probably after I retire.

I watched on eBay and once in a while some would show up,  but I never found anyone that had them regularly.
