Hi, I'm servicing this machine for an elderly friend. The hook was seized up so I had take it out and clean the bearing. Also the machine seemed to have the wrong timing belt because it was way too tight even with the tension backed off. Finally, the top gear is broken on the vertical shaft. My question is where does the hook have to be relative to the needle when I time it? I'm getting conflicting information. I think I know where the timing marks on the needle bar have to be. Does anyone have any experience with this model? I don't have the service manual for it.

Thanks
-Rob

Thank you! I just watched it! I never timed a hook before. It should be fun just have to order a new belt and gear.

Thanks again
