What chair / bench / stool do you find most comfortable to use when treadling? Or sewing? My old bench broke and I am exploring what next to get. I have thought about a piano bench or stool but having a back on a chair to rest against might be nice.

I don't know about treadling, but I have two rolling office chairs in my sewing room. A big comfy one with arms that was given to me to replace my favorite chair - a 25yr old cheap office chair that Sammis cat shredded 12 years ago, and my shredded office chair that I won't give up because I've had it for so long that it fits my butt perfectly lol. Someday I'll get around to recovering it so it doesn't look like what it is.

I regret that I let my drum thrown go with my industrial. I didn’t need a back. I could roll around all over the place and I loved that stool on wheels. I have considered taking the back off an office chair.

I use an old office chair, too. I prefer the arms off. I can't really say I use the back, but I suppose I do when pausing to switch tasks.
I like using the Singer stools, except i have a tendency not to scoot them up to the cabinet, so I'm leaning forward to sew, and the fatigue comes quickly then.

I forgot to say that I have a vintage sewing chair, you know the kind with storage in the seat and a nicely padded back, but I haven't yet moved it to my sewing room to see if I like it or not. Like Lori and Miriam I don't use the seat back when I'm sewing.

For a treadling chair it will depend on how you treadle as to what chair works well - I use my right foot only for treadling, my left on the floor, so a rolling chair works fine for me. A rolling chair will not be stable if you treadle with both feet. Another issue with the rolling chair is that the legs stick out far enough to bump into the treadle pedal which can be annoying. I have two, one is bigger than the other & I am looking to replace it as it is too clumsy.
I don't use the back when sewing.

Height makes a difference for treading. No rolling stool for treading for me either.

I use a Koala sewing chair at the shop to work at repairing machines.  I have 9 bulging discs and typically chairs are not my friends.  But these are great!!  Check your local Baby Lock dealer and you can get them.  They sit a little lower than a chair and raise up to a high stool for running a long arm.  I am in one of those chairs nearly everyday all day.  Those chairs don't add to my normal pains!  They are also available in different color options.
