I've started my Christmas gifts. These are the first 5 pencil boxes, have about 5 or 6 more to make. The linings are the same color as the handles.
S5030351.jpg  And the spool pin felties. Not done on a vintage machine though, these are machine embroidered in-the-hoop projects. Have about 50 of these to make.

OH, Cari! Love the felties. Do you take orders? The pencil boxes are fun! The grands will love them.

Nice job on the boxes!
Are the felties perforated so you can just punch them out or do they need to be cut with a scissors?

Deb, the first one is a booboo. Once the tack down placement stitch is done you're supposed to cut the felt away around the stitch, then put the hoop back on the machine and finish it. These are embroidered on Vilene, a wash away fabric type stabilizer.

On Etsy. They're bigger than the ones I made though. I emailed her and asked for smaller ones, I don't know if she's put the smaller ones up for sale.

Your projects look absolutely perfect!  I especially love the idea of the spool pin felties.

Maria I use ByAnnie zippers almost exclusively in craft items any more. The size, wide zipper tape, ease of sewing over it and ease of replacing the zipper pull have me sold on them.

I'm feeling really dense:  For the spool pin felties, I don't understand how much you buy, and how much you make.

Paul these are made in the hoop of an embroidery machine out of pieces of felt and fabric. The one in the upper left corner is a mistake. After the machine stitches an outline, you're supposed to cut away the felt/fabric close to the stitch line. I forgot that part and stitched the whole thing before I remembered. After the excess is cut away the machine satin stitches around the edges, then you remove it and soak it in warm water to dissolve the stabilizer.

So to answer your question, I bought the supplies and the machine did all the stitching.
