A quick Google search turned up a "rare" one already sold on etsy and new ones without the cool package for under $2 on eBay...LOL

I have one but shaped a little differently mine is called "Grip Snip Thread Cutter SUISEI AP18E" I really like it for the machines that don't have a thread cutter and it fits on.

From my understanding Singer made one it is part 161585, I think. I think I found it somewhere in one of the parts pdfs I've downloaded.

I had a NOS one like this that I put on on Pfaff 130.  The best part is that it holds the thread ends so I don't have to. It takes two hands to run mine, otherwise thread will spool off rather than cut and hold.  Other than that, I used it for a whole set of quilt blocks and liked its operation.

Boy, don't I know that. Alas, it will have to wait. I can't post pictures on VSS from home. I've got a few that I will try to get posted tomorrow.

I think mine may have been made for high shank machines but I've got it working on a featherweight. I'm not sure why as I also have the regular thread cutter on it, too.

I don't remember the other machine I had it on, but I found if I wrapped the thread ends almost all the way around it would work better.

Some Elna machines have a presser foot screw with a thread holder and cutter built in. I wonder if those are available.

That sounds neat.  I can't remember but maybe Wheeler and Wilson had one that fit in the hole in the presser bar where the quilting bar would go.  It is just a bent wire sharpened in the corner.

http://www.wawak.com/Grip-Snip-Thread-Cutter-with-Exposed-Knife-GS1 has the straight behind ones for $0.64 (less than a dollar).

OK - here are some pictures of the one I have.  I think I can get it to work bringing the thread under the unit or over the top.
