I found a small treadle on local craigslist. The seller fitted it for a Singer Fashion Mate 360. The Singer 12, was long gone. The top was opened enough to drop in 360. Top veneer must have been stripped off too.

My wife was not interested in getting a Singer 12, we had a Singer 28 without case. I replaced top wood as necessary to fit 28. I found new walnut veneer on Ebay from Sharp Veneer Products. I find their pictures and descriptions accurate. Also ordered cherry, oak, mahogany, pleased with all.

An interesting feature on table/cover is sheet metal slides, serving to store cover as storage bin. Pictures show slide.

My guess table dates between 1880 and 1885?

The lid holding slides are a neat innovation. Nice restoration, as well!

I've never seen that lid holder before!  Nice job - looks like it belongs there!

I hope someone else has slides. Pictures of inside the cover, and under tables are rare, to find on web. Slides appear old, machine fabricated, painted, and precisely installed long ago. Much dust in tracks, cleaning required. Seems feature was unknown or rarely used.
