Merry Christmas to all on the forum.  I hope that each and every one of you enjoy all the pleasures of family, friends and fun at this special time of the year.  Remember the reason for the season.  May God Bless you all!  And to all a good night!

Merry Christmas to everyone.  Here's a little poetry that I wrote for the occasion a few years ago.

Sewing Shop Week Before Christmas

‘Twas the week before Christmas at my sewing shop,
my seasonal preps had been nearly non-stop.
It’s that time of the year that folks get gifted things,
like fabric and notions and sewing machines.

The vintage machines were displayed with great care,
a couple of treadles and an old sewing chair,
all waiting in line, they sure were a site,
freshly oiled and greased, and shined up so bright.

While me at my workbench in the back of the store,
still cleaning and wrenching on a couple of more.
the tools and the parts were all strewn about,
but again these would sew, without any doubt.

The door chime then sounded and immediately I knew,
someone had come in, but I did not know who.
I sprang to my feet, and that’s no small matter,
‘cause over the years, I’ve grown a tad fatter.

I wish I could say, that I moved in a flash,
but it was more like seeing a slow-motion dash.
I started to call out a bright cheerful greeting,
not knowing at this point just who I was meeting.

But as I grew near, I stopped with a pause,
I was looking straight at, Old Santa Clause.
He told me some Wish Lists that he had seen,
included some vintage sewing machines.

He added “They make the most wonderful toys,
for some of the bit older good girls and good boys.”
So he loaded his sleigh and left with this call:
“Best Wishes to you, and Merry Christmas to all!”

CD, I really REALLY enjoyed your poem!  Brought a smile to my face for sure!

We're ready for a family holiday here, tho ours will be a couple days later so family can get here.  Going to do some sewing, just for fun...making our traditional fruitcake (we candy our own fruit) and starting on some special cookie baking.  Turkey dinner will be on Tuesday night - a heritage breed bird we grew ourselves.
Hope everyone is well and enjoys a peaceful Christmas holiday!

Jeanette, He truly is the reason for the season and in my opinion, wise men STILL seek Him!!

Merry Christmas, all!!! [wave]

Sausage balls, and Chex mix is more our speed.

Merry Christmas everyone, or Happy Holidays if you prefer.

They said there'll be snow at Christmas
They said there'll be peace on earth
But instead it just kept on raining
A veil of tears for the virgin birth
I remember one Christmas morning
A winter's light and a distant choir
And the peal of a bell and that Christmas tree smell
And their eyes full of tinsel and fire

They sold me a dream of Christmas
They sold me a silent night
And they told me a fairy story
'Till I believed in the Israelite
And I believed in father Christmas
And I looked to the sky with excited eyes
'Till I woke with a yawn in the first light of dawn
And I saw him and through his disguise

I wish you a hopeful Christmas
I wish you a brave new year
All anguish, pain and sadness
Leave your heart and let your road be clear
They said there'll be snow at Christmas
They said there'll be peace on earth
Hallelujah, Noel be it heaven or hell
The Christmas we get we deserve

Merry Christmas! I'm up to my eyeballs in Kinder Eggs, socks, Tootsie Roll banks, oranges and Danish cookies. Instead of wrapping I bought gift bags, but I think I'd rather just throw it all in the middle of the floor and let them have a free for all.

Merry Christmas to all of my dear friends on VSS!!  I wish you all the joy you can cram into your hearts.
Humbug!  I have a bad respiratory infection that serves to ruin all my plans.  Oh, well.  I am certain that God knows what He is doing.

Merry Christmas to everyone!  We had 3 out of 4 of the kids here and it felt like the presents went on and on!  The food today was a big pan of Supper Nachos and add your own toppings!  I got a quite a few sewing related items, a new seam ripper, a wool pressing mat, a teflon? pressing sheet for applique and another Ott light!  I love the Ott lights.  This house doesn't have the best for craft lighting so now I'll have one ovr my chair for hand work, in the main sewing area and another I can use when cleaning and detailing machines!  I hope everyone got to spend time with their families and got a little sewing related goodie.  [biggrin]

Had Christmas Day with brother/ s I law and nephew...always small group but at least we could dL something special by eating outside at Ft Myers beach.
We are still in mess from Nov 1, water damage. It’s possible today that our bed will get into bedroom then a toilet connected so we can sleep here.
Been living few weeks in RV but as of Dec. 31, we had nowhere to sleep. Yes, the Hampton is down the road but try to get reasonable rates in season !!!
Good things will come from this...no mold or mildew, many little things fixed , new flooring and I get a small dishwasher installed in few weeks when cabinet back together. . Had too much water on Nov 1 now 58 days of no water so it did get dried out. Even though we hired help it is amazing how we have to be here for decisions.

Bought lots of gift cards because even wrapping paper , bags & tags all buried in pile. I only want to share my story not trying to complain. Good to share with sewers/ collectors who can feel the frustration. BUT, I can not sew. My brother gave me a white and black thread for gift as a joke.
The vanity I ordered is wrong so I may get a cutting table from it if we make spare bed room into sewing area. Wow, a very costly mistake.

Weather is good so why should I be complaining. Thinking of all of you and really look forward to your posts.
Hope you all have a Healthy , Happy New Year.

Decided to add photo of our living room.

Ack!  Kathleen, I'm sorry you are still dealing with the water damage.  Good for you looking on the bright side of getting lots of things fixed.  I would have a hard time living with my "nest" disrupted.  It sorta makes me crazy when things are out of place and I can't do the things I want to do!  Mom used to say " a place for everything, and everything in its place!" Boy, do I HAVE to have that in my life!
