Because we filled the double wide garage full of our sewing machines at last year's event, I think it would be a good idea for me to put up the 12 ft. sq. and 10' ft. sq. tents I have. I have a feeling our "weekend extravaganza will grow."
Contact me to reserve your overnight bedroom space at our Victorian. So far I've heard back from Mavis, Chatty Kathy, Lori WI.
Hey, didn't we have a hoot at last year's VSF gathering?
There will be as many or more outsiders in our surrounding communities stopping by again for our Saturday cookout, and to see our beautiful treadle, hand-crank, electric machines.
I saw some happy moments when outside guests watched their machines being fixed. Lots of stories shared about sewing machines history.
Mavis--we were glad you and others brought sewing projects along, tempting and inspiring everyone.
Miriam bought 5 Elnas along-- to give away to good homes.
Mavis got a part for her machine (off one of my old ones in storage), and I coaxed Kay Treadles & Gears to take a couple old machines (helped me to downsize).
Farmer John fixed lots sewing machines and gave us hands-on lessons, (golly, I don't know how many machines he repaired . . . at least 10?).
Farmer John bought my c1900 National Two Spool.
Linda/Mrs. D (me) I bought a 1938 Pfaff 11 hand crank (a beast) from Dwaine Konshak,
VSF members shared many gifts, sm parts, fabric, and maple syrup too! Thank you Lori WI for the great syrup.
Linda/Mrs. D (me) demonstrated free style long arm quilting in the sewing studio.
We had a great cookout lunch, good lasagna for evening meal. Members brought treats,
We stayed up late two nights, and talked, and worked on machines into the wee hours.
Hope you'll pencil in these dates on your 2020 calendar.
