I don't know what it is, but I know what it's not! Singer never used the leaf tension.

Nice price.  Are you the one who bought it?

It doesn't look like http://needlebar.org/cm/displayimage.php?pid=7495  The leaf tension looks like a National to me.

I couldn't find a decent picture of the Greist Improved Singer.

Actually, I see now, Griest did not have a leaf tension nor is it a high arm. https://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollections/Trade-Literature/Sewing-Machines/NMAHTEX/2704/thumbnails/tnSIL10-2704-02a.jpg There are actually two that are basically the sameimages, just in different order. https://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollections/Trade-Literature/Sewing-Machines/NMAHTEX/2710/index.htm and https://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollections/Trade-Literature/Sewing-Machines/NMAHTEX/2704/index.htm

Sorry John, you didn't get it. I sure hope it did NOT go to someone that is going to turn it into something stupid. Another thing I noticed was the raised area on the bed.
