The local Historical Society does an annual quilt show and strawberry social as a fundraiser. Here are a few hexagon quilt tops my SIL hand cut and pieced. In the winter, she "snowbirds" and paints watercolors. Some of her artwork features her hexy quilts.
She made giclee prints of the blues hexy, and note cards of three hexy still life's. Just two wc's are shown here.

Wow, she's very talented. The thought of hand cutting almost makes me shudder!
Love her paintings, too.

Amazing artwork - both the quilt and the painting.  She is very inspiring!

How long does it take her to finish a quilt top - hand cutting and sewing?

I don't think she counts time. She'll sew while she's watching TV, or sitting on her deck looking at the lake. She has said there are 20 stitches on each side of an individual hexy.

Looking again at that first hexi quilt (blue one), it looks as though she even made it two sided?  Hexis on the back, too?  Wow, just wow.

Oh, no. One is draped over the other. She has 5 on display, from tablecloth to throw. I'll get photos of the other two tomorrow. Her fabrics are primarily Kaffe Fasset.

So pretty! I’ve been working on an EPP quilt for about a year, on and off. I am inspired to get it finished now. She is such an artist, the watercolor is fabulous and I love the subtle reflection in the glass of a VSM! Thanks for sharing those pics.
