I've searched for this topic here but haven't found anything real clear.  So, who has used gold paint on irons and what did you use?

Regards, Dan

I used acrylic Splendid Gold from Hobby Lobby. It is very fine and bright, amazing nice. I applied with a rubber craft roller, accurate, easy and fast! I was concerned about excess brightness, a top coat of satin Minwax toned it down just right. I could have put on a perfect coat, but wanted it to look slightly worn.

Thank you for the info and pics Dave. Looks good! I'll be working on a curved leg with a round over. It will have to be brushed or sprayed unfortunately.

Dave,
The paint looks good.  I think the ring around the logo would have gold on it as well, at least it is on my '85 IF w/ original paint.

Greg

(Sorry about the rotated pic. Not sure why it rotates the pic when I attach it and I don't know how to fix it)

Greg,
Thank you for sharing. I wondered about ring, and found one picture with, along with other edges too. I like the way yours looks, it appears original. I will upgrade mine.
I use a phone app to rotate, crop, and resize photos on my phone. Photo Editor 5.9 for android phones, on Google Play
