Here's hoping others with wisdom and experience can help out this newbie (me)...

Chainstitch:  My Standard Grand rotary (the model that travels down into the cabinet rather than the fixed machine with the coffin top cover) has a serial number #198673. Does this rule it out as being a candidate for the chainstitch spider? From the survey at Needlebar (http://needlebar.org/main/survresults/standard1/), it appears not, but then it is old enough to have its serial number printed on the stitch length plate. The machine didn't come with a manual and the manual that best correlates to the machine doesn't mention a spider (thank you for posting, macybaby! https://d28lcup14p4e72.cloudfront.net/197085/2655972/StandardRotary_pre_chain_Stitch_Slim.pdf). Has anyone been able to fit pre-chainstitch model with the Slim spider?

Bobbins:  What replacement bobbins would fit the 20mm bobbin case? The ones I find on the Singer website are thinner by several mm. What do others use if original Standard bobbins are unavailable?

Thanks in advance!

Rose-Marie, we've been having a discussion on another thread about chainstitch loopers and spiders here:  https://www.victoriansweatshop.com/post/domestic-chainstitch-loopers-and-other-specialty-attachments-10975843?pid=1317575233

Maybe you can post in that thread and get some help from those who have been studying these things longer than I have.  Oh, and I couldn't get the manual to come up from the link you posted.  Do you have a copy that you could attach here or the other thread or PM to me?  I'm trying to gather what info I can on these things, too.

Thanks, Olaf!  I just clicked on the link and didn't even notice the ) at the end of it, lol.  No problems getting there without that.

Sorry, I can't help regarding the bobbins.

Just a reminder that the manual category can be found at https://www.victoriansweatshop.com/?forum=626056
Currently there about 90 manuals on two pages.
