We went and ate at my parents' for a late Christmas dinner this afternoon, and just as I was leaving (my husband was literally waiting in the car), my dad said, "Do you want to see this sewing machine I got?"

... I think my dad has been bitten by the bug.

"Sure!" I said, and followed him down to his basement workshop.

Bear in mind I had about 4 minutes to look at the thing.

It was a Domestic, a rotary, with the number 818 cast in the underside of the base. In a nice Martha Washington cabinet. It had what I think of as the "B" (backwards B) faceplate.  An electric, because he mentioned the motor. It needs a bobbin case (missing) and bobbin.

So when I went home, I started poking around a little to find out about Domestics. Wow, info is much thinner on the ground than for Singers.

So, does anyone have websites (or vendors) to recommend, for finding Dad info (and a bobbin case) on his Domestic?

You might also look at White Rotaries.  White made the early Domestics.

I love the old iron and wood machines. They're solid and reliable.

I agree with Joe,  it's most likely a White made machine.  I don't think Domestic made any rotaries before they were took over by White ( if they did  - I WANT ONE!!!!).  The good part,  there is a lot of info on Whites and parts for them.

This is one of my favorite White made Domestic Rotaries.

Did you ever find the bobbin case? I have a domestic 153 and the tension screw is no good and I’m looking to replace it.
