Another lovely acquisition!

I saw one of these on ebay from Wolfgang Collectibles years ago. I had to have it. The top case is much newer, but the metal rack is in very good shape. I wish the bottom case had its original contents.  Did yours come with needles, ect?

Nice find, Steve!  How is the top connected to the bottom?  Does it actually swing away?  I LOVE those feet!

Oooh, nice!  I've acquired tops with various contents and finally found a bottom-only like yours, so now I'm wondering if I can just set one of the tops in the "holder" of the bottom and make it work.  Just haven't had the time or energy to check it out.  Mine also slides with a very obnoxious sound, too, and it didn't come with any contents.  Hope yours did 😉

congrats - they are very hard to come buy.

now you'll have to be on the lookout for the bottom piece.

this one came with the wrong top unit (shown).  But I already had one of the correct vintage.

Fascinating piece!  What, exactly IS the bottom (3rd) piece?  I can't make it out from the picture.

Yes, indeed, what IS that 3rd bottom piece???  I can't seem to make it out very well, either.  Inquiring minds need to know 😉

Could it be for treadle belts? According to Needle bar - http://needlebar.org/main/boye/index.html - The packaging for treadle belts was only 4 1/2" x 1/4" but maybe came later?
