Quick question: Has anyone ever replaced the stitch length lever on a 604 or one of the other 600 machines? I bought this machine from an eBay seller and it arrived with a bent stitch length lever. (Amazingly, the way this machine was packed--or more accurately, not packed--it should have arrived way more damaged.) The lever is bent about 3/4" from where it attaches to the pivot inside the machine. If I could get it out, there is a good chance I could straighten it, but I am not sure how to do that.

Thanks for any suggestions. The eBay seller is going to get some feedback from me.

I have a parts machine, I think. If you want to buy it, and when I take it off I can tell you how to get it back on. I'm thinking it may unscrew opposite the usual way. There may be a nut on the back but I'm only guessing since I am not home.

Thank you, Miriam. My husband looked at it and thinks he can straighten it out without too much trouble, so I'll let him try, first. But I will let you know!
